After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, and working for years in the financial industry, Jared received a fateful envelope in the mail — a jury summons!
We all have received these envelopes before, and most of us dread them, but Jared dutifully went to jury service with an open mind. His mind was so open, in fact, that he was selected to sit as a juror for a three-week civil trial. While the eleven other jurors struggled to stay awake during the trial, Jared was riveted. As he sat as a juror, Jared knew that becoming a trial lawyer was his calling.
Jared immediately enrolled at California Western School of Law, packed his bags, and moved to San Diego. During law school, Jared was drawn to criminal defense for one primary reason — he wanted to defend people and their freedom, rather than corporations and their money.
While in law school, Jared interned with the Alternate Public Defender's Office in San Diego and an acclaimed private criminal defense lawyer. Jared also took an accelerated path through law school. He graduated early, immediately passed the California Bar Exam, and was soon hired as a Deputy Public Defender in Kern County.
As a brand new public defender, Jared instantly inherited a caseload of over 300 misdemeanor cases. Many new public defenders crumble under such pressure. However, Jared's talents in the courtroom, his dogged work ethic, and his frequent wins in trial did not go unnoticed. Jared rapidly advanced from a misdemeanor case load to felony trial work in less than a year.
After successfully trying numerous serious and violent felonies, Jared decided to go into private practice and relocate to Alameda County. Again, in a relatively short amount of time, Jared quickly gained the respect and esteem of lawyers, judges, and prosecutors in Alameda County and throughout the Bay Area.
Over the course of his career, Jared has successfully represented clients accused of DUI, narcotics sales/trafficking, grand theft, insurance fraud, bank robbery, domestic violence, sex crimes, gang crimes, and murder. He treats every client, no matter what they are accused of, with dignity, respect, and compassion. He fights every case with the legal skill and winning strategy he has consistently proven throughout his career.
In his spare time, Jared enjoys hiking throughout California with his wife and dog, going to rock concerts, cooking, and his latest hobby — building, programming, and flying custom racing drones.
